Bambino's La Familia debut, Roc La Familia & Hector Bambino "El Father" Present Los Rompe Discotekas, is set to drop on June 20. "Hector Bambino represents the ideal behind Roc La Famlilia," Jay said in a statement. "Roc La Familia exists because world music has evolved, it now blends contemporary styles such as hip-hop, rock and electronica with traditional and roots music. Hector blends genres and brings real stories and messages to the listener. His huge following and his passion for the music made us immediately realize that this is the right first release for Roc La Familia and we are in business with the right artist."
Bambino has been a major figure in the Reggaeton scene, first blessing the mic in the mid 90's. He is the first Reggaeton artist to sell out a stadium concert, has won 2 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and is credited for helping to pave the way for Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, and Don Omar.
Bambino's album will be the first record to be released by Roc la Familia, which is an extension of Jay's Roc-A -Fella Records. It will be followed by NY staple N.O.R.E.'s long-awaited N.O.R.E. Y La Familia...Ya Tu Sabe which is set to hit stores on July 18.
